Brigette Sobus


Owner of Salon Soca Salon in Chicago, IL. Brigette launched her style-setting career in 1993 at Mario Tricocci in Chicago.

Brigette has valued the importance of education and mentoring throughout her career, which inspired her to pursue numerous advanced certifications as a stylist, business owner and salon trainer. In 2004 Brigette opened Salon Soca in Chicago and started advanced business coaching.

In 2009, Salon Soca was recognized as one of the fastest growing salons in North America by Salon Today magazine, earning the distinction as a Top 200 Salon. The salon has earned a distinction in the Top 200 Salon list every year consecutively since.

Prior to opening Salon Soca in 2005, Brigette held senior stylist, educational and management positions at top salons including Mario Tricocci, Zano’s Hair Design and J.Bauer Salon in Chicago, and Subway Salon in New Jersey.

Brigette is a member of the American Board of Certified Colorists and was honored with the Colorist of the Year Award in 2001 at Mario Tricoci. Since, Salon Soca has won the Citysearch Chicago Voter’s Choice Award for Best Color and Highlights in 2007; and the salon was selected to participate in Chicago Fashion Week in 2008.

Brigette continually studies the latest hair innovations and has attended many prestigious professional programs including Vidal Sassoon Advanced Color (London), Vidal Sassoon Advanced Cutting (Miami & Chicago), Aveda Institute (Chicago and Toronto). She is devoted to the management and business development of salons, and has attended Aveda Business College in Minneapolis, and every month teaches business development, coaching and professional classes for salon owners.

In 2012, Brigette started pursuing another dream of working towards her accreditation as a Business and Life Coach with the International Coaching Federation. She was so inspired by the training and education she experienced that she wanted to help empower other people to achieve their dreams and live a more fulfilling life.

Brigette is passionate about the hair care industry and is committed to increasing her knowledge and educating others about the salon business.  Though she no longer spends much time behind the chair, Brigette forms lasting authentic bonds with her clients. She is a dedicated salon business owner, trainer and mentor who puts her heart into all she does.

Emily Roxburgh

Emily grew up in Florida, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business from Florida Gulf Coast University. Upon graduation, she decided to pursue a path that would allow her to use her artistic abilities, and she moved to Chicago to attend the Aveda Institute.

Emily has always had a passion for beauty. Her talents and interests have led her to focus on cutting and color, and she continues to further her skills through advanced educational classes. She started working with henna hair color in 2007 as an alternative option for clients who are allergic to traditional color.

In 2009, Emily took on a new challenge and became involved in Salon Soca’s education program as a cutting coach to stylists in training. Emily is passionate about creating new styles that make people look and feel great.

Michelle Burbatt

Michelle describes her style as edgy, contemporary and fashion-inspired yet wearable. It’s no surprise how she developed this unique style through the training she received from around the continent and in Europe. A graduate of Toni & Guy Academy (Denver), Michelle has also received advanced training from Toni & Guy Academy (London), Vidal Sassoon (Miami) and the Aveda Institute Toronto.

Michelle says her dedication to creativity and ongoing training creates exciting coloring techniques and sharp haircuts.


Erin grew up in Chicago, where she still lives with her close knit family. She attended Douglas J Aveda in Chicago where she received her education in cosmetology. She is always looking to learn new techniques and keeping up with the latest trends by continuing her education. Outside of the salon, Erin likes to try the new and trending restaurants that Chicago has to offer.


Angie started doing hair in 2008 as a means to pass time until she decided what she wanted to study. Turns out she didn’t have to look much further because she absolutely loved doing hair, and fell in love with the craft. Her favorite thing about it is all of the people she has connected with and helping them feel good about the way they look. She believes a great hair day can make you feel unstoppable and she is here to help you achieve that on a day to day basis. On her free time she’s most likely hanging with her three dogs and partner planning their next adventure.


Destiny graduated from Paul Mitchell the School Chicago. Being apart of the 1% nationwide to complete Paul Mitchell’s Dean’s List and graduating with high honors.

Destiny is a self proclaimed hair nerd! With a passion for perfecting her craft, she has taken many classes in all categories of hair. Working as an assistant for three years in top salons around Chicago, Destiny has had extensive training in wide spectrum of techniques. Including customized cuts, hair perming/relaxing, foiling, balayage and color corrections. Her favorite thing to do is fantasy colors!! Whether you would like some subtle pops of pink, or all over bright neon yellow; Destiny will happily customize your color to fit your unique look!

When she’s not in the salon Destiny likes to spend her time singing show tunes at her local karaoke bar or dancing at concerts and festivals!



Bonnie is originally from Tallahassee, FL and graduated cosmetology school from Lively Technical Institute with high honors. After working in Tallahassee’s top salons, Bonnie found herself yearning for something different, and decided to pack up, and move to Chicago!

With over 5 years of experience, Bonnie brings excitement and passion for the art of hair with her to work everyday. She loves learning about the latest techniques and trends of the industry. She is constantly taking classes to continue her education. When not in the salon, Bonnie enjoys taking her dog to the lake, visiting Chicago’s many art museums, reading fashion magazines, and watching football.
